The construction of the wetland area is due to commence in late July. The actual start date has yet to be fixed.

There will be considerable disruption to the access to the meadow and it is important that all visitors take careful note of the safety notices. It will not be possible to enter the meadow through the main gate. Access will be through the small gate in front of the large fir trees or through the gate near the Derwent River. It is important that visitors do NOT attempt to enter through the main gate as they will find that they are in the construction area which will be completely fenced off and there will be no means of exit other than back through the main gate.
