“ Walkies !”

What better place to take your dog for a walk than down on the Meadow.

This has been a popular spot for many years and it is expected that its popularity will increase, however circumstances have changed and it is essential for dog owners to accept this and the associated responsibilities. There are two in particular.

  • The Meadow is covered by the same by-laws regarding fouling as those applying in the rest of the village. Owners must make every effort to clean up after their dogs. Bins are provided for this purpose.

  • The Meadow has been declared a Local Nature Reserve and all wildlife species are protected by law. Owners must prevent their dogs from causing any damage to the wildlife and some dogs may have to be kept on a lead.

Dogs are not permitted to enter the wetland area as this will cause serious damage to the fragile wetland life.
